Publisher's summary

How well do you really know your best friend?

Kat Grant and Alice Campbell have a friendship forged in shared confidences and long lunches lubricated by expensive wine. Though they're very different women - the artsy socialite and the struggling suburbanite - they're each other's rocks. But even rocks crumble under pressure. Like when Kat's financier husband, Howard, plunges to his death from the second-floor balcony of their South Florida mansion.

Howard was a jerk, a drunk, a bully, and, police say, a murder victim. The questions begin piling up. Like why Kat has suddenly gone dark: no calls, no texts, and no chance her wealthy family will let Alice see her. Why investigators are looking so hard in Alice's direction. Who stands to get hurt next. And who is the cool liar - the masterful manipulator behind it all.

Very, very good!

This is a very character driven, subtlety written psychological thriller. While not as “extreme” as some psych thrillers, there is a good twist at the end. The story kept me interested, and it progressed well, with no “stalled” areas to endure through! The narration was great, also. This is well worth a credit!

Ugh

The story was good, not the best, but good. The narration was horrendous. Sarah Naughton’s sing-songy voice almost made me want to pull my hair out. It was distracting from the actual story. I finished the book, but barely.

One of the weirdest twists yet

I will not give the end away, but nowhere in the farthest reach of my imagination did I see this ending coming. I finished it late last night and had to listen to it again this AM to make sure I heard it correctly and now that I have heard the ending, see if there were any hints of the outcome. Nope. It could have played out in many ways, but not like this. Nope!

Now, don’t cheat and go listen to the last few chapters because it just won’t make take you to where you think it will.

Trust me. A does not always take you to Z. Sometimes you just have to follow it to ohhhh my!!!!

OMG that ending!

This book is hard to review, not because I was on the fence about liking it, but because the best part is the ending and I can't give that away! Best Friends Forever captured my attention and held it all the way to the last word. I loved the edgy friendship between the two women, the superb character development, and the narration. Don't miss this epic psychological thriller!

Derivative and flat

Another women in peril novel w cardboard characters and an ending you can see from the first page. Decently entertaining.

Terrible!!!

This book is terrible. Unimportant descriptions seem to exist for the sole purpose of increasing word count. The story is not intelligent nor suspenseful, it is just stupid... do not buy this book!

Not what I expected

History of 3 year old relationship between 2 mature women, not a history of murder investigation.Characters are not very believable. Nobody becomes best friends so fast at these age in these circumstances. Not some other details are fit well in this story. But I enjoyed listening this book as dialogs are very well written and performance is fantastic!

kinda slow

lots of details about family life. You feel like you know these women or at least met them once in your life. A great twist and almost believable end.

she should probably stick to novellas

I got this because I’d listened to two of the authors novellas and really enjoyed them. I thought “wow I love that there was no swearing or foul language in these, and that I want to keep reading, there should be more. Maybe I should buy one of her novels.” I literally listened to this on 3 speed and still felt like this story drug on. The twist at the end was not worth all the filler text and awful language (which is also just filler text). Nor was there proper clues left for the twist to make it believable.
