Here Comes The Sun

Where does Before the Sun Hits rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Before the Sun Hits is a fast paced "maybe end of the world" thriller. I really liked the book, but it is disturbing at times. Contemplating a future without the sun is down right scary. The author interjected humor and romance to break-up the tension.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Professor Bauer. He seemed to represent "every person". He is not perfect, but he strives to do the right thing.

What does Arthur Swan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings the book alive. I was worried about an author reading his own work. In past books, with other authors, this has not worked out well. Arthur Swan did an exceptional job.

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

Excellent SciFi Thriller

“Before The Sun Hits” is a top notch SciFi thriller about a disillusioned, small time, college professor, Drew Bauer, who discovers that the sun is dying out and is going to explode. Realizing that his abandoned research could hold the key to saving the world, Bauer sets out to try to do something about the problem. Only he is kidnapped by a billionaire mega villiain who has his own plan for surviving the apocalypse. A plan that doesn’t have the best interest of the rest of the human race in mind.

“Before The Sun Hits” is an enjoyable novel that would have been even better if the author had chosen to hire a professional narrator instead of doing his own reading. Mr. Swan isn’t a terrible reader, but he isn’t great either. I found his delivery somewhat monotoned and his pace too fast. Many times one sentence blended into another as if there were no periods to tell him to stop for half a second.

Finally, this audio book was provided by the author at no cost in exchange for an honest review, courtesy of Audio Book Boom.
