Wrong Narrator

The story and characters were excellent. It was hard to listen to a book that takes place in America, yet everyone has a British accent. The Narrator has a great voice. It was just weird.

excited for a new series

I enjoyed the story but the narrator had an English accent and the story takes place in the Midwest so that was a little difficult sometimes but over all I enjoyed it.

A really bad choice...

I can’t imagine what possessed the producers to use a narrator with a British accent to narrate a mystery in Mid West America. It was very grating.

British accent in Nebraska territory?? Really?

I've listened to this narrator in other books n was ok, but this one just doesn't suit. The story takes place in Nebraska, US. The British accent throws off the believability of the story. Confusing. Is the location In UK or US?. The author also portrays a disfunctioning and inept police force. Not worth the time

I couldn't get into the American storyline with the Brittish narrator it was just off

The banter between White and Ellington.

What does Elaine Wise bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The "bull-headedness" of the main character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Porter, at the end.

Pierce has become one of my favorite authors. He never disappoints! Way to go!

Narration was a distraction

I agree with several other reviewer's, the British accent was wrong. While the narrators voice was pleasant the British accent was totally distracting for a story set in Nebraska USA. I did enjoy the story very much

Character representation

Would you listen to Before He Kills again? Why?

As all other narrated books, actual female voices, as with actual male various character voices is what Audible should be working towards. This book as all other audible would have been so much better and real.

enjoyable psychological suspense

An fantastic psychological suspense story. This engaging storyline had me enthralled page after page. It's fast past, includes many obstacles, some missteps, vividly described scenes, constant fight for respect, and mystery. The main characters is relatable, interesting, and has personal life conflicts and a troubled past. I voluntarily listened and reviewed this thriller that had an enjoyable action packed satisfying ending. Nicely narrated with a thick accent adding to the story enjoyment. I look forward to more standalone in the series.

First Audible book

I just just could not get into the story line, I think it was due to it being my first Audible. Just not for me.
