Publisher's summary

From the number one overall Amazon best-selling series comes a new novella about greed, lust, sex, and deception.

When PI Jack "Keeper" Marconi is approached by a meek man by the name McNamee about a beautiful blue-eyed, long blonde-haired woman who took him not only for $9,000 worth of charges on his credit card, but who claims to be pregnant with his child, Keeper can't help but feel suspicious. Is the woman running a small time prostitution ring that also specializes in credit card fraud and larceny?

He agrees to take on the job of surveilling the would-be madame, if only to get the man's money back. But what he discovers in the process of looking into this femme fatale who just happens to reside in Arbor Hill, one the of most dangerous neighborhoods in Albany, NY, is that not all prostitution rackets are what they appear to be. And what's worse is how easily he himself can be lured into a spider's web of sex, cash, loneliness, and murder.

For fans of Michael Connelly, Charlie Huston, Robert B. Parker, Donald Westlake, and more comes the latest quick hard-boiled and Albany noir read from New York Times and USA Today ITW Thriller and PWA Shamus Award-winning author Vincent Zandri.

"A hugely successful series...Vincent Zandri’s The Guilty is a gripping combination of old-school hardboiled detective yarn and a ‘80s high-octane action movie. Immensely enjoyable." (Paul D. Brazill, Pulp Metal Magazine)

Short and Suspenseful

I have enjoyed listening to books by Vincent Zandri and Andrew B Wehrlen. They are a great combination. I love the twists and turns the story takes and the emotions and suspense that are covered. I was surprised with the direction the story went, and totally enjoyed it. The imagery is great too. Each book is a standalone listen and part of a series. Short, but pretty good PI story.

Arbor Hill was a dangerous place full of gang-bangers, drug dealers, and prostitutes. Jack “Keeper” Marconi was a rough and tumble private investigator who lived in and worked the neighborhood. Keeper and his friend Blood are working a case of a young woman suspected of running a sex for money scam on her suitors off a dating website. What they find is quite different from what they were led to believe. I didn’t realize how short this PI story was; a bit shocking when the end drew near. It was a good story though. Con Woman

Another great noir by Zandri. Keeper is hired to shadow a woman who fleeces men out of money. Unknown to him. he is being setup. After the woman is murdered on Keeper's watch, Keeper and sidekick Blood help police to bring down the killer. I was gifted this from the author.

A Good read / listen

A great read/listen. Gripping storyline, all the usual favourite characters,
I love the Keeper Marconi series and this is of the same high quality. Only complaint is it's too short! If not for that it would have been 5* all the way.
Narration is excellent, 5*

The story is short but well written and narrated. A solid PI story. I'd be open to more from this duo.

Fast-paced, quick PI thriller...

Arbor Hill: A Keeper Marconi PI Thriller by Vincent Zandri is a fun, fast-paced novella written in typical Zandri style. Keeper Marconi is hired by McNamee, a gentleman who claims to have just been taken total advantage of by a woman he met on Tinder, to the tun of about $9k. As Marconi and his buddy Blood investigate what this woman's game is, things quickly reveal themselves and all is not what it initially seems. I don't want to say more without giving away the story, but it was a good, solid novella. If you like Mr. Zandri's other books or just think this one sounds interesting, I'd definitely recommend it!

Andrew Wehrlen, as always, does a great job with the narration. He voices unique characters and I never have a problem differentiating who is who. He's one narrator that you can't go wrong with, which is why I'm glad that he is Mr. Zandri's usual narrator. Good stories along with good narration is a combo that you shouldn't miss! I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

A Fast Paced and Quirky Detective Story

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I truly enjoy this author's narrative and his ability to create a suspenseful plot while keeping you smiling. The characters are funky enough to be likable. I'm very familiar with the geographical area where this series takes place and that makes the story even more realistic to me. I can appreciate the details and the way the characters are able to deal with this urban reality.
The narration is as always impeccable. It is such a pleasure to listen to the audiobook so masterfully interpreted.
I do wish the book would have been longer, but if the author felt that the story was told as is, who am I to judge?
Great book and great narration!
