Critic reviews

"With her usual wit and flair, amateur sleuth Hannah narrows down the list of suspects in Bradford's murder, but can she catch the culprit before she becomes the next victim? Scrumptious recipes include mocha nut butterballs and chocolate marshmallow cookie bars." ( Publishers Weekly)

And life goes on

I found this to be full of suspects but, if you slow your you'll discover who quickly but necessarily why until the end. Great Book as always

please don't slide back

Descent escapism but she is teetering on the edge of dropping back into the simpy third grade romance. And, this mystery was solved too simply and climax was rather anticlimactic. I wish she would spend less time on the does he like me? Do I like him childishness and more time developing outside characters. There could have been real intrigue with past enemies but it was never developed.

Charming series

A pleasantly written series that is nice to come back to between books. The plots are not complicated so are an easy listen. The recipes are enjoyable provided you keep the rack in the middle position!;-) Hannah and the other regular characters written well. The reader does a good job with all the different character voices.
The plot of this story follows along like earlier stories - someone unsavory dies, Hannah finds the body and then proceeds to solve the murder faster than the seasoned detective. This time though Mike is letting her in on the investigation. This book ends with a couple of cliff hangers that I'm sure will be in the next book. Looking forward to that!

Norman or Mike!!

I really like this series and the recipes. However, when is she going to make a "choice"? It's almost getting like the Stephanie Plum series. However, the writing is still excellent. Me personally I'm Team "NORMAN". I love Hannah's mother. ;0)

Apple Turnover Murder

Joanne Fluke is one of my favorite mystery authors. My daughter and I have read all her series. I decided to try one of her audio books instead of buying the hardcover this time. As always, I loved the story and can not wait until her next title comes out to find out more about Hannah Swenson life. I will have to say I found the interruption for the recipes a little annoying as I typically skip over the recipes until I've read the entire story. Afterwards, I go back and look over the recipes. My wish would be to have the recipes in a seperate type file to download.

Apple turnover murder : review

Funny collection of events. Story is well organized but allows for some fanciful sequences that enhance the mystery.

Suzanne Toren is familiar with the characters in this book series. She portrays them with gusto!
