Publisher's Summary

FBI agent Jessica Blackwood believes she's left her complicated life as a gifted magician behind her - until a killer with seemingly supernatural powers puts her talents to the ultimate test.
A hacker who identifies himself only as "Warlock" brings down the FBI's website and posts a code in its place that leads to a Michigan cemetery, where a dead girl is discovered rising from the ground - as if she tried to crawl out of her own grave.
Born into a dynasty of illusionists, Jessica Blackwood is destined to become its next star - until she turns her back on her troubled family to begin a new life in law enforcement. But FBI consultant Dr. Jeffrey Ailes' discovery of an old magic magazine will turn Jessica's world upside down. Faced with a crime that appears beyond explanation, Ailes has nothing to lose - and everything to gain - by taking a chance on an agent raised in a world devoted to achieving the seemingly impossible.
The body in the cemetery is only the first in the Warlock's series of dark miracles. Thrust into the media spotlight, with time ticking away until the next crime, can Jessica confront her past to stop a depraved killer? If she can't, she may become his next victim.

Completely blown away!

Would you listen to Angel Killer again? Why?

Yes, yes and yes! The more things play out the more you wonder if you missed subtle hints in the beginning. Already planning to listen to this again very soon!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I couldn't put it down!! Andrew Mayne did such an excellent job making every chapter, every paragraph, a cliffhanger! From every little surprise around each corner to the "Oh no!" feeling that you get when something takes a turn for the worst, the book is impossible to put down, even when it's all over.

What does Jennifer O'Donnell and Fred Berman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Fred adds an incredible mystery to the villain in the opening. It certainly adds to how I built that character in my mind prior to the official story beginning. Jennifer is simply incredible. She brings Jessica to life in so many ways. From her mannerisms to her subtle changes in voice. Beyond Jessica, Jennifer does a wonderful job adding personality to all the other characters in the book. Whether she's voicing the FBI agents, Damien or anyone else involved in the story, she brings them to life in your imagination like no one else I've listened to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I almost did, I finished all 10+ hours in 2 sittings. And that wasn't by choice, I would have loved to have finished it in one.

Any additional comments?

Incredible! I hope Andrew sticks with Jessica Blackwood for future novels.

Would you listen to Angel Killer again? Why?

Absolutely, it's a great story, it's got intrigue and interesting plot points. It makes me want to find out more about the characters and really is a quick jump into the world of Jessica Blackwood.

What other book might you compare Angel Killer to and why?

• Daemon / Influx - because things aren't what they always seem and there are different angles to every story

• Any Clancy Novel - no not the long boring parts, but the parts where you have to keep going to find more of whats happening.

• A Detective Comics book - specifically the whole Batman looking for who did what, and how did they do it...

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't want to give away any spoilers - so let's just say the bit in Florida was really good...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me angry - because I want more, and I want to read more NOW!

Any additional comments?

Look - buy the book, you will really enjoy it. You can trust Andrew Mayne and I on this... it's just a great book!
