Publisher's summary

To stop a high-society killer, she'll have to play matchmaker one last time....

Lady Katherine would rather chase clues than suitors. Her reputation as a matchmaker could give her the cover she needs to follow in her detective father's footsteps. If she catches the Pink Ribbon Killer before he strikes again, she'll win her dowry and her independence in the process....

One look through the exclusive Northbrooke estate house party doubles her suspect list. With the help of her trusty maid and her precocious pug, Katherine risks it all to unmask the killer. But is winning her freedom worth putting another debutante in mortal danger?

Story was good, but narrative was repetitive.

Story and plot were good, but multiple recaps of scenarios were annoying. Could have reduced 30 minutes or more.

An Invitation to Murder is a invite to advoid.

Can you say dumbed down to the point of stupid. Why would a progressive female of any era portray herself as really slow on the up take and clueless when looking into murder. I could not relate and will not continue with the series.

Slow and repetitive

Book has a slow pace and poor to no character development. Concepts in the book are repeated several times. We didn’t miss the idea the first time

Cute, cozy mystery

This was a very relaxing and entertaining story. It’s also a very fast read. I did have to turn the speed down almost immediately on starting the story. I liked the dog Emma for another facet of this story.

I could not finish

I am sorry to give a bad review. I did not care for the reader I couldn’t get past the monotone voice and I could not begin to focus on the story. I truly can’t even say anything good or bad about the story because I could not focus on it.

repetitive and predictable

it's a good story that could have been told in half the time. Some may like all the "what if's" said over and over then over again, I do not. I won't buy any others.

A Happy Surprise

I expected this to be a light piece of fluff to space between more serious titles. I was pleasantly surprised to find an engaging, humorous, fun romp brimming with intrigue and packed with fascinating characters. True, as the disclaimer at the beginning states, there are historic liberties taken. That said, those liberties make the story fun and prepare the reader/listener to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the ride.
