Fun Urban Fantasy

I am a fan of the author - and this is a huge departure from her other books. I had no problem with the narration (some disliked her accent). I found the pronunciation for some words to be strange (which can be jarring) and she does talk too fast at times, but it did not distract too much from the great story. I cannot wait for the next book! If you enjoy urban fantasy (Patricia Briggs, Kim Harrison, etc) then you will enjoy this one:)

If you are a fan of Jacqueline Carey aware.

What made the experience of listening to Agent of Hel the most enjoyable?

First I enjoy Jacqueline Carey's way of writing. Also Johanna Parker was wonderful in her narration This was VERY different from other Carey books. If You read the Kushel series. This is very different and the character, the main character is a half daemon. She kind of polices the supernatural in the area where she lives. Not as erotic as Carey's other works but it does have very dark and sinister moments that can be upsetting to some Ie rape.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Agent of Hel?

The main character Daisy, is always finding new strengths, and powers. It is really nice to see how she interacts with some strange situations.

Which character – as performed by Johanna Parker – was your favorite?

Johanna Parker is a wonderful narrator....If you've listen to "Sookie Stackhouse" you are familiar with how she can switch characters and voices. Also showing emotions

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

*SPOILER: The end when Daisy has to kill the ghouls because it is her job to punish those who perpetrated the horror to the mermaid held captive for rape.

Any additional comments?

This is a new genre for J Carey in urban fantasy, I believe she did two books about werewolves also which were done very well I hope to see another book with this character. Daisy was fun.
