It's been fourteen years since Jinx's mother was brutally stabbed to death in their home in East London. Then, out of nowhere, Lemon arrives on her doorstep. An old friend of her mother's, he wants to revisit the events leading to that terrible night. Over the course of one weekend they strip away the layers of the past to lay bare a story full of jealousy and tragic betrayal. Narrated with a distinct and fiery spice, Jinx and Lemon must find their own paths to redemption in this stunning debut novel.

WOW!

I just finished the book, so I'm too moved to write much. So I'll just say that if you love dramas with great depth, honesty, and levels of uncertainty that you leave you wondefully guessing at the outcome, you'll be hard pressed to find a better book in any way. The narrator was so good that I kept looking to see if there was more than one narrator. I'm still doubtful :). This is simply one of the best books I've ever read or listened to. It has a small amount of sex, but it isn't graphic just necessary to the plot. I say that as an erotica fan, but this book did not leave me wanting in any way. I want more of this one. Enjoy.

Narrator Adjoa Andoh is fantastic!

The story is good, the portrayal of layered and conflicting emotions nicely done, but the narrator is fantastic. She IS the characters. I was not aware of the narrator making an effort to "sound like" different characters, I heard their voices. Flawless.
