A Cold Dark Place deserves better reviews

Where does A Cold Dark Place rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

With over 500 audiobooks in my library it would be difficult to place this one. Not at the very top or bottom but somewhere in the middle.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Emily Kenyon

What does Kevin Foley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kevin Foley did a great job with this especially since the main character is a woman.

Any additional comments?

This book has gotten some poor and mediocre reviews on both Audible and Amazon and I'm not sure why. I actually listened for some of the discrepancies mentioned (blonde hair/brown), only to hear that the girl colored her hair out of a bottle. If people would listen the story may have unfolded with a little more fluidity. I thought this was a really good fast paced book, well written, believable and completed with talented narration. This is worth the credit!

AN INTERESTING STORY IF A BIT CONVOLUTED

What did you love best about A Cold Dark Place?

I like the ongoing action. No lulls or gaps. I liked the way the story went to past events during the story then tied them all together.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Cold Dark Place?

The son turning out to be as twisted as the father. That was no only surprising, it was unbelievable.

Have you listened to any of Kevin Foley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I will in the future. His reading was excellent. There were times in the begining of the story I was ready to give up, but his voice triumphed and I finished the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Emily reliving how she shot a psycho and caused a little girl's death
