Wow - this is bad! Even for the WMC Series!!!

What could James Patterson and Maxine Paetro have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The story could have been tightened up. There were too may different stories - the missing body, the sick baby (that wasn't really sick), the serial killer, AND a trial of another killer. Dear Lord! With that many story lines, the novel should have been 10 times longer than it was.

Would you be willing to try another one of January LaVoy’s performances?

No - she was way too dramatic. Though the storyline didn't help her any, the voices she used were often distracting and comical.

What character would you cut from 12th of Never?

Not a character, but a storyline. The "missing body" storyline was completely pointless.

Any additional comments?

Just stay away, even if you are a Women's Murder Club fan. This book was terrible!!!

Very Disappointing

What disappointed you about 12th of Never?

Too many unrelated storylines and too much personal drama that had no bearing on the story at all. I waited for this book and I should have waited and read the other comments. Did Patterson take a number of storylines he had sitting on the shelf and throw them into one last novel?

What was most disappointing about James Patterson and Maxine Paetro ’s story?

Took a series I had grown to love and made sure I would not read another

What about January LaVoy’s performance did you like?

Give what she had to work with, she did great

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No

Boxer has a baby

I have read all the Women's Murder Club books but I am beginning to wonder why I bother. Boxer has a baby but did she have a personality transplant also? There was too many stories going on at the same time. One or two would have been better with more time to build the story and follow it to the end. This book made me feel as if I was being pulled one way then another. All but two of the murder club members had a personal crisis the other two had a work related crisis. This book would have been better as two books instead of one. January LeVoy did an acceptable job with the narration considering the chaos of the story lines.

Waste of Time

I have followed this series from the beginning; this one gives me permission to let it go. The Women's Murder Club used to consist of one or two cases that Lindsey Boxer and her unofficial team would solve. The books have been going downhill for a while, however, I stuck with it out of some sense of misguided loyalty; I'm sure many readers have as well -- hopeful that the creativity that captured us in the beginning might return. It isn't and this will be the last James Patterson purchase I make. The cases are unrelated and there is absolutely nothing engaging about them or the characters involved in solving them.

Not your usual Patterson

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I always enjoy his books. this is the weakest book from him. The story get good until book 4 and too much whining . The narrator must be new because it wasn't the usual voices and the voices were whiny in addition to the text

Would you be willing to try another book from James Patterson and Maxine Paetro ? Why or why not?

Absolutely!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She had whiny voice

Could you see 12th of Never being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No!

Narrator is Awesome, Story Sucks

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Way too much to talk about here, but let's just say there were too many subplots and they seemed quite contrived. Additionally, these experienced law men and women at times seemed like novices -- it was quite unbelievable.

What do you think your next listen will be?

No idea.

What about January LaVoy’s performance did you like?

Everything. She did a wonderful job of giving each of the characters a distinctive voice. I particularly liked her portrayal of the professor.

Was 12th of Never worth the listening time?

I'll just say it was entertaining.

Waste of Time

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The book would have to be re-written to be salvaged.

What could James Patterson and Maxine Paetro have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Characters face too many personal challenges, the reactions are unrealistic, I know from experience.

Any additional comments?

The plot is silly and demeans the characters; Lindsey Boxer is off my list of reads.

Mother's can relate! Awesome story!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This story, as usual, has many sub stories intertwined. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, the plot kept me on the edge of my seat because so much was happening at once!

Have you listened to any of January LaVoy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This one is as great as the rest.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Boxer held her baby for the first time, I almost cried!

Any additional comments?

Worth the $$$.

Shame on James Patterson for this dog!

Would you try another book from James Patterson and Maxine Paetro and/or January LaVoy?

Not anytime soon!

Would you ever listen to anything by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro again?

Not unless the quality improves.

What didn’t you like about January LaVoy’s performance?

It wasn't LaVoy's fault, she did the best she could with this oinker.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None!!!

Any additional comments?

Patterson is obviously more concerned with raking in as much cash as possible at the expense of quality. I guess he needs a new jet or needs to refurnish the Florida mansion. This drivel does not come close to his earlier Alex Cross books. The characters are shallow, the story line is totally implausible, and I don't like the way Patterson and Paetro portray their characters as the absolutely finest people in the world and every one outside their circle as morons, crooks, lowlifes or scumbags. When the female FBI agent tried to give a baby gift to the Boxer character and she dumped it in the trash after the agent left, I turned off my iPod and screamed, "NO MORE"!! I have never been a huge fan of the Women's Murder Club series. but this trash was bad even for it! In the future, I'll stick with John Sanford. Both his Prey series and his Virgil Flowers series are wonderful reads. I guess he doesn't need the money as much as Patterson. Ugh!
