Publisher's summary

Grab your walker, secure your catheter, and make sure there's double adhesive on your dentures! Then hang on for dear life, because you are about to ride along with the covert Senile Squad -- a bunch of elderly cops who refuse to stop catching crooks. Fighting street crime the old-fashioned way is their modus operandi. The Ol' Blues, led by their cigar-chewing Sarge, bring justice back to the streets of Omaha by taking down a brutal Sudanese kingpin who thinks he's a powerful gang lord. Crime fighting has never been so funny or effective when seasoned cops armed only with walkers, canes, and wheelchairs (and some gross tactics) take back the streets.

Funniest thing I've read in a while

I laughed so hard I cried, I cried with the characters, and I definitely almost puked once..... I have read very few works of fiction that are better.... I hope this becomes a series and that would definitely watch the movie if one came out...... if you like the movie retired extremely dangerous with Bruce Willis you would love this book

what a great book the author did a great job developing his characters and added a lot of good humor to it. Definitely worth it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good job.

Thank God..A Road Less Traveled

Did you ever buy a ticket only to find someone didn't bother to tell you the facts about the mundane and sometimes just boring passage, characters that are stuck off somewhere between Mae West Wannabes, and clueless.
Well you have probably figured that I wasn't enchanted with this one. It is light, trite, and has no redeeming adventure. 100% predictable from the opening to close

Dentures, Diapers, and Dirty Deals

Oh, my GOODNESS! Best listen in a long while! Justice dished out with humor and spunk! This author needs to make this a series. My husband read the Kindle edition and then I listened on Audible. Making use of decades of experience of retired cops, wealthy business owners join together to form, The Bureau, a community watch group, that is like none other. It doesn’t matter if the Old Blues are wearing dentures and diapers, they have their wits and they are miles ahead of the bad guys. The antics of Boss Nurse in the “nursing home” cracked me up, as well, and her southern accent was perfect. The police department liaison, Jake Mitchell, takes a liking to one of the Old Blues’ daughter, Brittany, who visits every week. And it isn’t long until Brittany and Jake are following the crime stoppers tip line to see what the Old Blues have been up to . . . solving crimes in lightening speed. The big gang kingpin, Clubba has everyone in the neighborhood shaking in fear, and a whole squad of minions doing his dirty work for him . . . even from his prison cell. What the Old Blues do to tackle the problem is beyond amazing . . . I can’t recommend the book enough . . . for a fun and different listen, where the bad guys get MORE than what they’ve got coming!

Entertaining from the word GO!

What made the experience of listening to Senile Squad the most enjoyable?

Something different, entertaining, thrilling. Love the narrator, too. I love YA, but I have listened to so many stories about kids learning they have super powers that this was a warm and welcome relief.

What other book might you compare Senile Squad to and why?

Hmm. Not sure there is a comparison yet!

What does Michael L. Canaan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His accents, his deep and clear narration is as if he is reading it right to the reader. I love it!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The geezers have gone rogue.

Any additional comments?

Funny, thrilling and original. Well done!

Hits all the emotions

I love books that make you feel so many emotions through out the book. I literally laughed out loud multiple times and felt myself angry and sad for many of the characters. Very well written and I look forward to the sequel!

Good story. Horrible narration

Although pretty corny throughout I enjoyed the story. The narrator's attempt at the character's voices was beyond irritating. Women's squeaking voices were an insult to the characters and women in general.

Not for me

This was rough to listen to. Clearly it was not my cup of tea, to say the least.
