Publisher's summary

John Jordan's first two cases in one box set.

John Jordan's first case is also his most heartbreaking. And one that will haunt him for the rest of his life!

When John Jordan was 12 years old, he came face-to-face with the man who went to prison for the Atlanta child murders. Six years later, John returns to Atlanta to discover the truth.

As he battles his demons and embarks on his first murder investigation, Jordan learns the ropes from the one and only Harry Bosch.

Witness the beginning of one of crime fiction's most fascinating detectives. Every great character has a past, and ex-cop-turned-prison-chaplain-turned-cop-again John Jordan's is equal doses tragedy and inspiration.

Innocent Blood is both a standalone thriller and the true first book in an electrifying series that features a special introduction by Michael Connelly.

Power in the Blood:

The difference between murder, accident, or suicide is sometimes indistinguishable.

Ex-cop John Jordan, now a prison chaplain in the Florida Panhandle, witnesses the bloody death of Potter Correctional Institution inmate Ike Johnson. But what exactly did he witness? Murder, accident, or suicide? Jordan discovers that in the closed society of captives and captors no act goes unseen, and no one takes kindly to a cop in a collar. He soon finds his reputation, his career, and even his life are at stake.

Newly revised with an introduction by Michael Connelly.

Good read

Innocent Blood, my first read from author Michael Lister & the seventh book & prequel in The John Jordan Mysteries was well-written & enjoyable. I got this Kindle book back in August of 2016 & am just getting around to reading it now that I've been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of the narrator. It looks to be the beginning of an enjoyable mystery series that I look forward to reading.
Power in the Blood, my second read from author Michael Lister & the first book in The John Jordan Mysteries was again well-written & enjoyable. I got this book back in August of 2015 & am just getting around to reading it now that I've been given an Audible copy & am voluntarily reviewing it. Once again I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of the narrator. It looks to be the beginning of an enjoyable mystery series that I look forward to reading. Owning both the Kindle & Audible copies of these books I was able to follow along while being read to. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
