Great for beginners in French.

Clear reading, challenging enough to make you pay attention, good enough to soften the ear.

Lovely story. Whimsical and fun.

Voyage en France is a great story of an old Englishman traveling to Paris, accompanied by his wife, to find his childhood friend. It can be quite complex at times for a story for beginners, but a good challenge is a good learning experience. I enjoy having the story in writing and audible, so then I can practice reading and listening. Also, Sylvie begins the story narrating very slowly, and finishes narrating quickly, because if you are learning french for conversations, the French speak very quickly!

Great for beginners

A simple story line with easy to understand language. I was able to follow along, pick up a few new vocabulary words, and focus on listening.

Just keep LISTENING

This French story is good for any level of beginner and intermediate too. That’s a very wide spectrum. I have only listened once thus far, but I notice that I am starting to pick up more words and that’s very encouraging. The secret is to give yourself permission to understand as little or as much as you might: realizing that by continuing your French language study, you will very slowly “get” more of what is being said each time you listen. Even if it’s just a few nouns/verbs/adjectives etc in the beginning. But also make sure your choice of study course has a listening component.

Missing PDF

Merely listening to the story absent any written guide is rather useless. sure we get a word or two, but in French it is the small words that run together in speech that are crucial. I am searching for the PDF without success. Apparently one must order it elsewhere. But where? How?
Other Audible selections have the PDF included and downloadable with the audible file.
