Help me more

I have an English/Swedish dictionary, grammer book, verb book and phrase book etc. I thought that this audiobook would help me in the department of HEARING the words not just reading them. Well, this product does this, but not very well. If I were to say "grab the knob" and a translator would render it "take hold of the turning device", that would work (if it were in the same language). If you are listening to the foreign translation without an understanding, you will be lost! You need to have a grasp of the basics, and more, and understand the grammatic structure of Swedish. You might also tune up your hearing for following the quick speech of the translator. If you can, you will find some value in this book.

A Great Study Help

I first started learning Swedish part-time at night while I was living in Germany. Between classes, I would listen to this tape (and Level 1) on the way to the instruction, or in the car if I had a long tedious drive on the Autobahn. The other listener has a point that this method is almost pointless unless one is having formal instruction, but as a "snack" taken between the "main meals" this program was quite good. It kept me from forgetting my vocab between classes. My native-speaker teacher found it interesting, too, and lent it to her son in order to practice English.
