Publisher's Summary

Sometimes the Dashwood girls do not seem like sisters. Elinor is all calmness and reason, and can be relied upon for practical, common sense opinions. Marianne, on the other hand, is all sensibility, full of passionate and romantic feeling. She has no time for dull common sense - or for middle-aged men of 35, long past the age of marriage. True love can only be felt by the young, of course. And if your heart is broken at the age of 17, how can you ever expect to recover from the passionate misery that fills your life, waking and sleeping? An Oxford Bookworms Library reader for learners of English, adapted from the Jane Austen original by Clare West.

Classical and very good novel

What made the experience of listening to Sense and Sensibility (Adaptation) the most enjoyable?

As I expected, the novel, the adaptation and everything is very good. But, in fact, it was a experiment for me, because I'm looking for a very easy text. I need get advance in my English level. I'd like to have the book and the audible version at the same time. Is that possible?. Having both (text and audible book) I could understand and learn better. Thank you!

prefer english narrarator.americans

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

americans in the first instance but they too would enjoy English narraration.

What other book might you compare Sense and Sensibility (Adaptation) to, and why?

pride and prejudice needs to be narrated by british who are used to the metre and and where emphasis should be put.

What didn’t you like about Jenny Funnell’s performance?

Her way so Americanised, an English classic needs an English classic reader to talk in these books, Just as I would like and American to narrate American authors.nothin

What character would you cut from Sense and Sensibility (Adaptation)?

Any additional comments?

why was not told when buying a kindle book that English classics are not read by English spoiled my enjoyment of this well known novel for and wont listen to it again.
