A Very Enjoyable Learning Experience
I bought Rapid Italian Volumes 1 & 2 in March to get ready for a trip to Italy in April, and it was very compulsive learning. I really enjoyed it. Not only that - it worked! In just a few short weeks I had picked up quite a lot. When I was in Italy I was able to ask for what I wanted in the cafe, get directions, and train times etc. I had it on my iPod Shuffle, and just let it run, sometimes I took notice of it, and sometimes I didn't. But it was invariably there in the background whilst I got on with my work.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't particularly want to do the 'classroom' bit. Some of it is quite amusing, and the music in the background really does help the language to sink in.
Imagine if you listen to the same music CD many times, you inevitably know the tune and the lyrics very well, so it is the same with Earworms. I shall be trying other languages in the series simply because it was so enjoyable.

Rapid Italian makes it so easy
I bought Rapid Italian and put on my mp3player with the intention of listening and learning for a few weeks before going to Italy but inevitably I never got aroung to it until I was actually on the plane. It was a 4 hour flight from West of Ireland and by the time I got to Rome I had enough Italian to get me through 2 weeks in Italy without speaking a word of English, except to my husband who hadn't bothered to listen to any of it and had no Italian. He could not believe how much I had learned and was amazed from the moment we landed until the end of the holiday. We travelled quite a lot, stayed in lots of places etc and I always had enough lingo. Going to download the Spanish now to brush up. Off to the Canaries next week. Thanks Earworms.
