Publisher's Summary

Learn to Speak and Understand Brazilian Portuguese with Pimsleur Language Programs
Portuguese is the mother tongue of about 230 million people, mainly in Portugal and the Portuguese islands in the Atlantic, Brazil, and Portugal’s former overseas provinces in Africa and Asia. Pimsleur’s Brazilian Portuguese teaches the São Paulo metropolitan accent.
Pimsleur® equals success. Just one 30-minute lesson a day gets you speaking and understanding like no other program. Portuguese (Brazilian) Phase 1, Units 11-15 build on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Each lesson contains practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Brazilian Portuguese.
These units contain Reading Lessons designed to teach you to sound out words with correct pronunciation and accent. A Reading Booklet PDF to be used with the audio lessons is included.
This 3rd edition (© 2014) is a new edition of Portuguese (Brazilian) Phase 1.

What the Critics Say
