Publisher's Summary

The Pimsleur® Method: the easiest, fastest way to learn a new language. Spanish Level 4 builds upon your skills gained in levels 1 to 3 in speaking and understanding Spanish. The pace of recall and conversation moves more rapidly, making way for faster learning of vocabulary and structures. With even more direction given in Spanish, you'll further your abilities to understand and reply naturally and easily to a native speaker.
During the first 10 lessons of level 4, you'll speak about professions and work; express opinions; create complex sentences discussing the past, present, and future; and discuss modern technology. You'll speak and understand longer and more complex sentences, and you'll find yourself easily understood, even by native speakers unused to dealing with foreigners.
In the next 10 lessons of level 4, you’ll speak in greater depth on topics such as your health, family, and the weather and use relative structures and adjectives to describe and compare people, places, and things. You'll learn new structures and vocabulary to help with shopping, vacations, and hotel stays. Conversations become more detailed and rich as your speech becomes fluid and effortless.
In the final 10 lessons of level 4, you’ll continue to build your language skills, and you’ll be speaking with a high-intermediate level of fluency, with a near-native accent and quick and effortless responses. You’ll learn to speak in more detail about vacationing: going to the beach and swimming pool, sunbathing, choosing inside or outside seating at a restaurant, taking a walk, and talking about sports.
Reading lessons are included at the end of lesson 30. These lessons, which total about one hour, are designed to give you further practice reading Spanish, expand your vocabulary, and deepen your ability to read complex sentences. Topics covered include the family, eating out, medical terminology, travel, phone usage, and more. A reading booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." ( AudioFile magazine)

I don't like change

What disappointed you about Spanish Level 4?

The tutors changed from the first three levels and I wasn't expecting it. The male tutor sounds like he's on the verge of a heart attack and the woman tutor sounds like she was either about to climax or inhaled 75 balloons worth of helium.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I've been spending every lesson mocking the narrators. I'd stop listening but at this point, I'm really committed to learning Spanish.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointed. I liked the tutors from the first 3 levels.

Any additional comments?

Bring back the other tutors.
