Any additional comments?

I've taken French for two years in high school and am about to finish my last year studying it in college, so I'm always looking for things to help supplement my knowledge. A TA of mine recommended this to me and I'm glad because the stories are fun to read and the vocabulary section provides a succinct section to learn what you just read.

Bon chance!

Such a great way to practice your French!

I studied French for five years in high school but since that time didn't have many practice so I'm still not fluent.

I am really glad to find out this e-book "French: Short Stories for Intermediate Level". I like that the book is split in the short stories which makes practices more interesting. It's very convenient to practice language in this e-book because you can hear right pronunciation, learn new words and phrases at the same time. Also you can get a PDF file to see the correct spelling of words which is really cool. This e-book is intuitive and has an instructions so you wouldn't have any problems to go through it.

I would recommend this book to anyone needing to practice French and learn new words in a very easy and interesting way!

Engaging way to brush up on conversational French

I took French for 3 years in High School, but I feel like I mostly memorized vocabulary words and correct conjugation. I love how the short stories are broken down into paragraphs with phrases in bold that are defined at the end of each paragraph. This audiobook has given me the opportunity to develop my speaking/listening skills in an interesting and fun way, and I will finally be able to put my knowledge of the French language to real use. Having the PDF story along with the audio narration made it easy to follow along with what was happening in the story, and learn how to pronounce certain phrases. I really enjoyed this book, and honestly had a lot of fun reading/listening to it. Highly recommend this to anyone that wants to learn French in a fun, convenient way!

Super helpful audiobook

I have studied French in the past, but am by no means fluent in the language, so this audiobook has been a great addition to my French studies. It's been such a help for learning the correct pronunciation, as the audio is very easy to follow along and comprehend. It was especially helpful to have the PDF alongside the audiobook. I had no technical issues at all. Very happy to have found this audiobook and would recommend it to all!

Excellent For French Learners and Speakers Alike!

I am by no means fluent in french but I have been brushing up on my skill levels after taking years of french in my younger days. Not only are the stories lovely to listen to but my favorite part is that Frederic Bibard is clear and concise with his speaking so I did not have to stop the audio and go back to listen again to understand what was being said. I think this book is perfect for intermediate and advanced speakers. I also think it would be great for beginners to listen to so they can dive into the french language and get a taste for how it sounds without being overwhelmed with how fast people can talk in a natural setting. Great book, would recommend!

Highly recommended

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. My French is far from good, but I was able to comprehend the stories without any difficulties and improve my vocabulary. I used to be an English teacher for Russian students and I always found it the hardest to listen to and understand the foreign speech. This audiobook is a great way to work on those skills. I also find it very helpful that there is a downloadable PDF that includes all the stories and the vocabulary as well - it is very useful for beginners. I highly recommend this audiobook to those who want to learn French or work on the listening and comprehensive skills.

No regrets

Great purchase no regrets - shame they don't give the word with it's gender - I like to learn La or Le from the start.
Some sweet stories and useful French

I really enjoy this audiobook

If you could sum up French: Short Stories for Intermediate Level in three words, what would they be?

Catching, diverse, entertaining

Who was your favorite character and why?

The final ones, because the author included vocabulary in English-French for those words and terms a little bit more complicated.

Have you listened to any of Frederic Bibard and Mariem Nouni ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I did not

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, for me it is a book to listen in parts

Any additional comments?

it has very entertaining stories with an excellent narration that manage to get you trap in each chapter. If you are not very familiar with this accent like me, first it will be a little complicated to understand but after listening to the first stories you begin to understand a little more because of the clear and paused way the narrators have to speak.

Something that I appreciate a lot is the presence of masculine and feminine voices in the narration that achieves the objective of accustoming the listener to the different tonalities of the language.

For a non-native english speaker can be a little difficult to understand the instructions at first and it is because the narrator presents a strong French accent. In conclusion I can recommend this audiobook to all people who want to start tuning their ear to this language, or anyone who enjoys good stories in this fantastic language.

Excellent and entertaining audiobook

Would you consider the audio edition of French: Short Stories for Intermediate Level to be better than the print version?

I think the audio edition is better than the print version. This audiobook was exactly what I was looking for to refresh my French language without going through long lists of vocabulary and complicated grammatical rules. The short, simple and fun stories kept me interested and focused through the narration. I found these stories very practical because they were real life stories that immerse you in the language through topics such as travel, shopping, school and other everyday situations. The narration was clear and easy going. The first narration was slow which helped me pick up several words that I knew but also enabled me to learn new ones.

What was one of the most memorable moments of French: Short Stories for Intermediate Level?

The vocabulary recap for each story was such an added bonus that helped me reinforce my pronunciation and understanding for key words.

What about Frederic Bibard and Mariem Nouni ’s performance did you like?

I really enjoyed their narration and how easy and clear was their pronunciation.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No I think you need to listen to the first easy part then listen to the rest some other time.

Any additional comments?

I recommend this audiobook to beginner or intermediate French learners who are looking for a fun and engaging way to learn French.

Great Refresher , Complete with Engaging Stories

Where does French: Short Stories for Intermediate Level rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As this is the first audiobook I have listened to so far, I have no benchmark to rank the collection of short stories against. However, French: Short Stories for Intermediate Level is effectively organized, and includes quality narration that helped me regain some of my mind's lost French concepts; with this in mind, I assume it would rank well against other autdiobooks.

What was one of the most memorable moments of French: Short Stories for Intermediate Level?

The various vocabulary recaps found at the conclusion of each story were effective in permanently acquiring previously-unknown French vocabulary. The auditory reading of these stories were especially crucial in learning how to speak the French language, as my previous instruction in the language was more focused on writing and reading.

What does Frederic Bibard and Mariem Nouni bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Bibard and Nouni bring the crucial element of auditory reinforcement to the story, allowing readers an additional source that further immerses them within the various short stories. Readers become more engaged with the stories when hearing them spoken aloud, in that they now have "voices" attached to the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This work is not a book that should be listened to all in one sitting, due to the fact that it is a collection of short stories. I found the book to be more effective in reinforcing the French language when stories were read in a spread-out manner.

Any additional comments?

This collection of short stories is most valuable to an individual who has had previous instruction in French, yet finds themselves lacking in language proficiency.
