Karim and Whitney were normal kids until they met Zimmah, a wicked djinn with a twisted sense of humor. A few miss worded wishes takes them to other worlds and the zaniest adventures imaginable.
Whether they're caught in a candypunk war between the Cupcake and Brownie Kingdoms, an epic battle between Unicorns and Mermaids, or a surprise invasion of San Francisco, the action never stops and the stakes couldn't be higher. Can Karim and Whitney survive jello buildings, butterfly-spewing volcanoes, and dozens of evil djinns to save the world?
The Zimmah Chronicles is an omnibus of captivating stories that includes the never-before-released bonus tale, "Dinosaurs vs. Robots". If you like coming-of-age adventure stories that teach important life lessons in the wackiest, most delightful of ways, then you'll love every page of Scott King's The Zimmah Chronicles.

Captivating + Originality
It's definitely in my Top 10
Magic Tree House?
Although that series is shorter and more historical, it also catapulted the characters into a different world in which they had to figure it out.
Other than that series, this book really stands in a class of its own. Who would expect a desserts to fight one another? Or mermaids and unicorns to be selfish creatures with a evil agenda? Genies and Djin are known to be magical or wish givers, but that story also is innovative with a resounding lesson to be learned.
Eric was good narrator for these books.
Twice. When Whitney experienced her mom's pain.
Then the ending. (I don't want to ruin it for anyone.) It was unexpected. Completely. It wasn't a cliffhanger, but opened the door with thy myriad characters to keep readers (or listeners) eager for the next installment.
I'm so satisfied with the series and author. I started with the book and got so wrapped up in it, I was ecstatic to be able to listen to it more quickly.
