This series gets better with each volume

This latest book in the Lewis Barnavelt series takes place at the same time as the previous volume "The Ghost In The Mirror". This is the story of Lewis and Jonathan and their trip to Europe.

Lewis here, is maturing and is less afraid of his own shadow. In fact, he is slowly, but naturally, becoming the real hero of the series, and not just a perpetual victim.

This is quite good and doesn't talk down to the young reader, while still providing some serious scares. I recommend this book.

A heartwarming listen

I love to listen to these adventures and it’s hard to pick a favorite. This is one of mine. Lewis is finally growing up and thanks to his uncle Jonathan is seeing some of the world.

Fun kid story

A little spooky, but not terrifying - perfect amount of "boo" for kids 12 and under and entertaining for adults too. George Guidall's narration is wonderful.

Best book yet

I had not heard of these books before. Apparently most read these in their youth. I have read three of these books so far - and this one is the best so far. Highly recommended!!

These books are perfect for a rainy day!

George Guidall is an amazingly talented narrator who keeps me in the story, and never wavers.
He has narrated another wonderful classic.

The Witch-finder Defeated!

Loved the story and the narrator was great! John Bellairs' books have just the right amount of creepy!
