Publisher's summary

Children should not just hear the Bible, but experience it. Here, young listeners will discover not only the sanctity and wisdom but the excitement of the stories and events that shaped human history and brought about our salvation.

Unlike anything else in the market, this series uses the "schoolhouse model" approach where children of all ages can engage with the content.

Volume II, The New Testament, continues the journey. Children will marvel as they:

  • Bow at the manger alongside Mary in the stable
  • Witness Christ resist the Devil's temptations, multiply the loaves and fishes, heal the sick, and raise the dead
  • Experience His passion, death, resurrection, and ascension
  • And hear the Holy Spirit come like fire at Pentecost to send Peter and the apostles out into the world to become the foundation of the Church.

Each account is told in story form to engage listeners, with each narrative supplemented with actual Bible quotes. A closing summary provides context for each story and reveals a lesson for daily life.

Help the children in your life come to know and love the Bible through this groundbreaking series. Their encounter with Jesus will never be the same.

This dramatized audiobook edition includes inspiring music and more than 3,000 engaging sound effects that can be enjoyed by family members of all ages.

The Story of the Bible

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. I recommend it for anyone who wants to gain an overall understanding of the Bible. Because it is told like a story that’s easy to understand. It’s easy for children to understand but not so juvenile that an adult wouldn’t benefit from listening. If you have never listened to the Bible I would start with this. I love the beginning introductions and how they explain a lot of cultural and detailed information that helps you with context. I also love that these versions give you little details or explanations related to the Catholic/Christian faith.

Great even for young children

Any additional comments?

My six year old loves listening to this. It isn't "at her level" but we have always just read her the scriptures so she can follow this. She is noticing different details with this narration and it is leading to good conversation about the life of Christ.

I enjoy listening to it myself though I do find some of the background sounds unnecessary. It keeps my adult attention well because the reading is well done. Great for spiritual refreshment!

Fantastic!

Our family absolutely loved listening to both the Old and New Testaments. Ages six to nine got a lot out of it and even the two year old loved it. The production value is fantastic and it is solidly Catholic (you can take the book from the Church but you can't take the Church from the book).

I highly recommend both volumes!

Not what I was expecting

Seems more like history lessons. I thought they would do more of Bible reading. Not something I would want to listen to regularly.
