What other book might you compare The Mystery of Hollow Inn to and why?
Nancy Drew would be a good comparison.
Any additional comments?
I listened with my 10 yr old daughter and we both enjoyed the story. It's nice that it's a shorter audiobook. We were able to listen in one sitting and it took her mind off of recovering from surgery. It wasn't too predictable so it kept you wondering and mind active.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Growing up with Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, the Bobbsey Twins, and Encyclopedia Brown (which was the shortest of mysteries, somewhat a chapter mystery, since each chapter was like a whole mystery); and authors like Augusta Hueill Seaman, I find nostalgia and innocence in looking for treasure and unmasking ghosts.
Typical of this genre were the slight disobedience when adventure calls, but at no point was it dangerous or morally wrong. Like little white lies.
(Kind of like stopping for a milkshake or coffee, even though you’ve already said you’re on your way home - not crossing borders to elope with an adult.)
I enjoyed the ‘clues’ - the reader/listener starts to draw the same conclusions as the characters do.
A wonderful series for mothers and daughters, or grandmothers and granddaughters; perhaps even for dads and their little girls!
It’s innocence and adventure.
Writing is somewhat stilted, but not flawed to the point it distracts from the story. Using the word “pleads” instead of “pleas” (it could be the narrator’s pronunciation) felt inaccurate.
Overall, a wonderful, wholesome mystery to be enjoyed by and for most families!
