I love the illustrations that play with the audio!

We've been slowly going through and buying the audible books from the With Synchronized Images category and have found that some are mis-categorized and don't have images. This one DOES have the original illustrations and we just love it! This is a really lovely production - I remember reading this book as a child and my mom remembers this book from HER childhood so I love that I can share this classic and well-read story with my kid!

My 4 year old LOVES this audiobook!

My daughter listens to this book every single night. She loves that it "turns the pages" along with the story, so it is like someone is reading to her in bed (which I do too, every night). It is something that helps her unwind on her own. A great story and a well done audiobook.

amazing little book

the narration of this little book is absolutley perfect. the background sounds help provide richness and context to the story. it is a sweet tale about the redemption of a little house who finds herself becoming surrounded by a big city. it is charming and well-narrated. perfect for children, especially.

Sweet classic of 20th century progress

My second grader had to read this for school and we started with the audible version. The narrator is easy to understand and paints a memorable picture of a house that lives in the country and then witnesses 20th century progress of transportation and construction of a city around it.
My three boys ages 3, 5, and 7 all enjoy listening to this story.

Great sound effects

The sound effects of the machines highlighted in the story were true to life and kept my daughter’s attention.

Grandson really enjoyed this story

This is a sweet tale about a house that starts out in the country, wishing to be in the exciting city. The city eventually takes over and the house longs for the beauty of the country again.

Lovely Story With Pictures

Has pictures that play alongside the audio.
Enjoyable, peaceful story that explains how country turns into city over time.
