Short YA Ghost Adventure

This was an enjoyable short YA story. I wish it had been longer since I actually really liked to story, but will settle for looking for other volumes of this title and similar books from the author in the future.

The story focuses on a young boy who runs away from an orphanage with his fellow orphan friend and scraggly dog. Looking to escape the voices of ghosts that haunt him in his sleep, he soon finds out that he has been chosen to solve a centuries-old mystery and free the spirits of those trapped on the long ago deserted Ghost Isle.

Though this was a YA tale and the main character was only a young teen, I think anyone can enjoy this story and its adventure.

The narrator was also quite good and I look forward to listening to him again in future titles.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

Cute ghost story

What made the experience of listening to The Ghost Isle the most enjoyable?

It was just enjoyable to listen to because it was a break from my normal more intense books.

What other book might you compare The Ghost Isle to and why?

I don't really have any other books to compare it to aside from the Treehouse mysteries (i think thats what they are called if I remember right)

Have you listened to any of J. Scott Bennett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I'm not sure if I have listened to any other of his readings mostly because I usually don't pay attention to names because I am horrible at remembering them.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I enjoyed the book overall and the ending was something that made me happy, but there wasn't any one moment that just stood out more than any other.

Any additional comments?

I loved listening to this story. It took me back to being a little kid and daydreams of pirates and fears of ghosts. J. Scott Bennett did a wonderful job with all his voices and made it seem as if pirates were in the room with me. Holt Clarke made a wonderful world and I can't wait to share this story with my daughter.
