Publisher's Summary

When studying mysterious creatures called cryptids, the line between fact and fable sometimes blurs. Believable finds - like the Piltdown Man and the Cardiff Giant - may turn out to be clever hoaxes. And impossible fictions - like a 44-foot squid and a living "missing link", the coelacanth - may be found swimming today's oceans. In this CYBILS Literary Award nominee and Junior Library Guild selection, Kelly Milner Halls, Rick Spears, and Roxyanne Young take kids and their parents on an imaginative and fun-filled romp throught the history of cryptids.

A very brief overview

I realized about 45 minutes into this audio that I was not it's target audience. While I know this audio is only three hours long, it didn't do it's subject justice. The interview with Loren Coleman was interesting, but very brief. If you are like me and have been reading books and watching shows on this subject for years, then this book will not offer anything new. Kids who are new to the subject may find it interesting to hear about cryptids that they may not have known about. Others will find this offering to be way too brief to be interesting.
