Gidwitz wants to be the star

when he got the memo they wanted this for younger audiences it seems Gidwitz imagined a 5 year old dressed in jar jar binks pajamas. He writes as if I'm an idiot and as if this is the first of the trilogy feeling he has to give background when it's least important. He distracts the story with what he thinks is comedy and interrupts every now and then with the most stupid "jedi lessons" that embarrass you just listening to them.

I got a bad feeling about this...

This may be the worst Star Wars book I've ever read/listened to. I could barely make it through.

The style of storytelling spoiled for me what is a Star Wars classic and a cherished memory from my childhood. The commentary was snarky and poor, and the perspective from which the book is told was a bad idea. Unless you want to check a box that you completed this series, I would avoid this one.

The only bright point to this otherwise dismal Audio Book is Marc Thompson, who was masterful as always.
