Such an Adorable Story
Fantastic and funny story told from a dog’s point
I was not previously familiar with this series and thought the perspective of a humorous dog as the author was a fantastic concept. The author really captured this well. Sarge is the family dog who thinks that he is in charge and doesn’t always understand humans, especially kids. You can see why when the story starts off with Tommy, a 9-year-old boy, lying to his mother and blaming Sarge for knocking over the trash can. Sarge soon gets his revenge on Tommy, but by the end of the story they make up.
This was my first time listening to Lawrence D. Yaklin and he was excellent!
The audiobook is very well done and at 35 minutes would make an excellent bedtime story for any kid!
I think children will respond well to some of the themes / values such as honesty coming from a friendly dog's perspective rather than an authority figure.
