Publisher's summary

Since their mama died and their pa left, Ethan, Alice, Simon, and Will Cooper have not known much of a home. But now that the orphan train has taken them to Mr. and Mrs. Rush in Nebraska, their dreams of home may become a reality.

The kids discover that life on a farm is full of challenges. Ethan learns how to drive a plow, watch for snakes, and deal with bullies at the country school. Alice learns to slop the hogs and live with a big sister who isn't exactly welcoming. Will seems to be the only one of the four that their new mother likes. And Simon disappears - again.

The third book in the Beyond the Orphan Train series, Prairie Homestead is an adventure in new beginnings and lasting faith.

Good reading great story!

I found these and the author’s grandmas attic books on Amazon and I’m hooked. The stories are interesting, supposedly true, and feel like Little House on the Prairie without some of the questionable stuff and with a Christian message. I don’t think there’s any bad words or approval of fighting each other or anything like that other than some little children getting fussy at their siblings.

This one seems like a very good series for my son although my daughters would love it too. Sort of reminds me of the boxcar children and I would love to know more about the orphan trains. The free ones offered convinced me to buy the books and I might buy more of the audiobooks as well.

Excellent story and historical details

I enjoyed the well told stories as the family became a better family group. The historical Pioneering details are accurate in interestingly woven into the unfolding story line. The characters are continuing to develop depth and spiritual understanding. The audio performance in this series continues to be outstanding and easy to follow. I'm really enjoying this series and just purchased book four, What time eager to find out how the true life main character's life turned out!
