Publisher's summary

Blackstone Audiobooks presents, from the unabridged collection A.A. Milne's Pooh Classics, the 35 poems and verses from Now We Are Six performed by Peter Dennis. This is the only reading of these delightful verses authorized by A.A. Milne's son, Christopher Robin.

The verses here, along with the verses in When We Were Very Young and the stories in Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner, have endeared themselves to so many readers that it is painful to try to imagine what the world would be like without them.

The perfect audiobook for that all-important birthday, Now We Are Six is much more than a worthy successor to When We Were Young; it is a modern classic in its own right.

"Peter Dennis brings to these remarkable readings a quality that goes beyond professionalism into an area we can't even begin to define." (Los Angeles Times)

Another Set of Poems by Milne

Although this set is made up of some of A.A. Milne's more famous works, it came across to me as being more just an adult being silly rather than one really trying to understand a child. The great ones are really neat attempts , but the bad ones just make everything else seem so much so more flat. Now none of them are actually all that terrible, just not his best work. These may have been written when Alan was discovering that the Winnie the Pooh books were not making Christopher Robin's life as wonderful as he had hoped. Still this is worth a read or two or so.

Wonderful

Growing up watching the old Winnie the Pooh films and shows, this story, from the original works of Pooh’s creator, only adds to the nostalgia I have for these characters.

Childhood Dreams

This is such a carefree wonderful story to read with a child of any age - so fun and so sweet! The anecdotes are poignant and innocent. It’s just a fast and sweet listen! A great book to listen to again and again.

"Now We Are Six (Unabridged)"

Back in the '70s, when I was a little boy, I had an LP album by the same title. I remembered that I really liked listening to it. I don't remember what had ever become of it over the years. But I do remember there being songs on it that I could learn to sing, like "Cottleston Pie". I had also loved this song because of it being sung by 'Ralph the Dog' on "The Muppet Show". And this all brought me to love Walt Disney's 'Winnie the Pooh' even more today.

My children and I listen to this in the mornings or when we’re driving and it’s perfect! The stories and narrator are so enjoyable.

I Love it!

I’m a teenager but I love these poems! I recently rediscovered the Winnie the Pooh books and I’ve been in love with them since. The narrators voice is very relaxing and so is the piano played before each poem.

Excellent series of books

The first two books are wonderful. This one and the next are A.A.Milne poetry. The are terrific in their own way.

fun, simple poems

A cute collection of poems. While there is no story, it's still a fun experience. It reminds me of Dr. Seuss!
