Publisher's summary

Mr. Putter and his fine cat, Tabby, love to take naps - too many naps. What they need is a sport! Luckily, Mrs. Teaberry and her good dog, Zeke, know of a baseball team they can join. It's not long before Mr. Putter is ready to play ball, but will his creaky knees cooperate? And can Zeke avoid wreaking havoc on the field? Win or lose, this baseball team will never be the same!

Heartwarming and a good chuckle

I’m a preschool teacher to four and five year olds and as a class we have fallen in love with the Mr. Putter and Tabby series. They request them everyday and never tire of listening to them. I appreciate the reader being an older gentleman as the story is told through the perspective of an older gentleman. The pacing might be slower to us who are used to a more frenetic pace but I think that is one of the reasons why it appeals the kids so much, it goes slow enough for them to follow the storyline- especially since they have no visual, they need that slower pacing to grasp what is happening. Great characters, great stories, and it leaves you with a sense of calm and enjoyment.

Too slow

I understand it is the old Mr. Putter being the narrator, but I feel the story is read too slowly.
