What would you do if everyone thought you were perfect, but you had a terrible secret? That's just the beginning of the adventure in Joyce of Westerfloyce: The Story of the Tiny Little Girl with the Tiny Little Voice.
Children and adults alike will be instantly engaged by the delightful story which tells the humorous tale of Joyce, a flawless little girl whose seemingly perfect existence is about to be shattered by the terrible secret she keeps - she has the biggest, loudest, and most explosive burp in the whole world!
How the truth comes out and the resulting consequences propel the story forward and secure a spot for Joyce as a heroine that children will love and remember for years to come as Joyce is forced to confront the same dilemma that faces all children at one time or another. Will people still like her once they know the real Joyce?
The story appeals to both male and female listeners. Girls love the fact that the story features a female heroine right from the beginning. As soon as boys find out that the heroine has an amazing burping ability, they are equally enthralled.

Excellent Interactive Learning for Children
JOYCE of WESTERFLOYCE was a delightful rhyming children's story about a little girl named Joyce who had really loud belches. It was so cute that I have a smile and am giggling as I write this review. I loved it.
This audiobook was especially good as it was interactive by offering suggestions of things a child may do while listening and learning at the same time. It mentioned various activities that a parent or caregiver could oversee so as to give a child full advantage of learning from an audiobook. It also repeated specific words multiple times and mentions that when a word is said x number of times then it is more likely to be remembered. At the end, the book has a glossary of words with their definitions.
MATTHEW W. GRANT is an educator and is experienced in communication therefore one really can't go wrong with this audiobook. I can see many occasions where this would be a great teaching/learning tool. I think this is a step forward in teaching and using audiobooks to a higher advantage.
MARY CATHERINE JONES has a wonderful voice that would be very appealing to young children. She did a great job reading this audiobook and I would most certainly say go for it if one is considering this in assisting education. Another of its values comes in when thinking about listening skills being taught at a younger age.
Audiobook received in exchange for an honest review.
