Critic Reviews

"[Cressida Cowell] puts a contemporary spin on the old brains over brawn moral and brings the story to a climax with a thrilling dragon duel. Lots for lots of different readers to enjoy" (Books for Keeps)

Perfect Book

Children will love it. It is poetic and is all about amazing creatures, and adventures. One of the few books that really gets you thinking what you were doing your whole life without it.

Very well narrated and written. I would recommend this to ages 5-18 as well as the 11 other books about Hiccup (this one is my favourite).

I'd you are looking for a good book, read this, or even better, have it ready to you on Audible.

If you could sum up How to Steal a Dragon's Sword in three words, what would they be?

Exciting! Emotional! Roller-coaster!

What does David Tennant bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I have been reading these books since book one but thanks to lack of time I thought I would give the audio book a try for this one. I was not disappointed. David Tennants was a joy to listen to and the accents were brilliant.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Even just reading these books I have found that they have quite an emotional impact on me. Listening to them seemed to make it all the stronger.

For Adults & Children Alike

What did you like most about How to Steal a Dragon's Sword?

While our children have outgrown the books for now, my wife and I are still listening. The books are really wonderful and David Tennant brings the stories to life in a way that is rather magical. I would particularly recommend for long car journeys.

David Tennant is absolutely brilliant.

Any additional comments?

The book is great, but David Tennant makes the story really come alive. He is
exceptional in the way he makes every character unique. Love, love, love David Tennant's narration. My daughter & her 2 kids also loved it.
