Since Farmer Bean doesn't have enough money to patch the holes in the barn or heat the chicken coop, they are migrating to Florida for the winter. Travelling to the beat of Freddy the pig's funny songs, they meet with one adventure after another. They find gold treasure to take home to Farmer Bean in the spring. Florida is fun, except for the time when alligators try to eat them for lunch.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Publisher's summary
Who, or what, is responsible for the crimes? What is the mysterious white shape in the Great Woods? When the animals get threatening letters demanding food in exchange for their safety, it's up to Freddy to solve the mystery of the Ignormus - even if it means going into the Great Woods alone.
The Freddy books are beloved classics of children's literature. With their lively friendships and adventures, the perceptive pig and his barnyard companions have delighted generations of young readers. Veteran narrator John McDonough conveys each line with gentle humor and warmth.

Story
For centuries, children and adults have treasured the stories handed down by Aesop, a slave who lived in ancient Greece approximately six centuries B.C. Known for their charm and simplicity, these simple tales feature brief adventures of animals, birds, and beasts - with a message hidden in each narrative. Every child should meet up with "The Hare and the Tortoise", "The Ants and the Grasshopper", "The Goose and the Golden Egg", "The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing", and other characters.

Story
The summer of 1899 is HOT in Calpurnia Virginia Tate's sleepy Texas town, and there aren't a lot of good ways to stay cool. Her mother has a new wind machine from town, but Callie might just have to resort to stealthily cutting off her hair, one sneaky inch at a time. She also spends a lot time at the river with her notoriously cantankerous grandfather, an avid naturalist. It turns out that every drop of river water is teeming with life - all you have to do is look through a microscope!

Freddy and friends do it again!
Mr. Brooks' never ceases to disappoint with each entry of the Freddy the Pig series. His clever way with words and his wit makes each story unique and entertaining.
With Freddy and the Ignormus we have yet another exciting and equally intriguing adventure in which the Bean animals and their friends must defeat the fabled Ignormus, a mysterious creature who has begun to terrorize the animals. Can Freddy once more step up and solve the mystery of the Ignormus, thus restoring peace to the countryside?
