Publisher's summary

In the long-awaited sequel to Fablehaven, the dragons who have been kept at the dragon sanctuaries no longer consider them safe havens but prisons, and they want their freedom. The dragons are no longer our allies....

In the hidden dragon sanctuary of Wyrmroost, Celebrant the Just, King of the Dragons, plots his revenge. He has long seen the sanctuaries as prisons, and he wants nothing more than to overthrow his captors and return the world to the Age of Dragons, when he and his kind ruled and reigned without borders. The time has come to break free and reclaim his power.

No one person is capable of stopping Celebrant and his dragon horde. It will take the ancient order of Dragonwatch to gather again if there is any chance of saving the world from destruction. In ancient times Dragonwatch was a group of wizards, enchantresses, dragon slayers, and others who originally confined the majority of dragons into sanctuaries. But nearly all of the original Dragonwatch members are gone, and so the wizard Agad reaches out to Grandpa Sorenson for help.

As Kendra and Seth confront this new danger, they must draw upon all their skills, talents, and knowledge, as only they have the ability to function together as a powerful dragon tamer. Together they must battle against forces with superior supernatural powers and breathtaking magical abilities.

How will the epic dragon showdown end? Will dragons overthrow humans and change the world as we know it?

Listen at speed 1.25

The narrative sounds so much better when listened at the 1.25 speed. It Changes the whole sound and makes it much better to listen to. Otherwise Kirby speaks way too slow. Great job Brandon Mull! Can't wait for the next book.

Why do we have to wait so long for Book #2 !?!

Where does Dragonwatch rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Fablehaven has always been in the top 3 of my list for a fantasy series. Dragonwatch Book #1 leaves nothing behind. You are swept along again with all of the wonderful characters that Mull created. He is so imaginative, and such an excellent writer! As a 42 year old woman, you would think this book would be too immature for my tastes. However, Dragonwatch Book 1 is exciting and enjoyable enough to please all audiences!

They need to go back to the original narrator!

My only problem with this book is that they used a different narrator on this one and he didn’t do nearest good a job with the voices as the original Narrator of the fablehaven books. In future audiobooks they should go back The narrator that did the fablehaven books.

Wonderful!

The performance was a huge improvement over past narrations and the teaching moments more subtle. Keep it up!

More of the same, but less interesting

I hate to say this because I loved the Fablehaven series, but this book was a bit boring. It had the same "go find the relic to save the world" format, but the story lacked a lot of the rich, creative detail that went into Fablehaven. I gave three stars because it was still an enjoyable story, but contrasted against Fablehaven it felt tired.

Voice acting

Was a much bigger fan of E.B. Stevens when he narrated it. Had a much wider range of voices. Kirby Heyborne tends to keep using the same semi Englishman voice for literally every creature... And even some of the characters. But literally still the same great story!

I was so mesmerized that it was over to soon. I look forward to future stories.
