Buckle your seat belt for the first ever follow-up to Ian Fleming's only children's story.
When the Tooting family finds an old engine and fits it to their camper van, they have no idea what kind of adventure lies ahead. The engine used to belong to an extraordinary car, and it wants its bodywork back!
But as the Tootings hurtle across the world rebuilding the original Chitty, a sinister baddie is on their trail - one who will stop at nothing to get the magnificent car for himself.
Fueled by wry humor, this sequel to the children's classic by the creator of James Bond - featuring a contemporary family and a camper van with a mind of its own - is written by bestselling, award-winning author FrankCottrell Boyce.

After several decades a sequel to the classic
The three new sequels, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again, Race Against Time, and Over The Moon are all fine, but they are also one long story. I think it would work better as a single longer story, rather than three shorter, incomplete stories.
Not sure. The original had a definite feel of time and place that worked for the story. These are intentionally taking place decades later and therefore have a different feel. What was charming in the original tends to feel just silly viewed in a modern world.
Not in Audible, but I have followed his career and he brings some obvious joy and sense of fun to this.
It pretty much required you to read the two following books to see the end of the story. There were a LOT of loose ends left hanging - intentionally.
Overall, not a bad story, just in the incorrect format in my opinion.
