Editorial reviews

This imaginative and educational story delivers young listeners an important message about growing up and being comfortable in one’s own skin. A young polliwog is fascinated by the amazing transition of his friend, who changes herself from a wriggly caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. The polliwog wishes he too could be something else, only to realize he’s suddenly grown arms and legs, marking his own transformation from tadpole to frog. Emmy Award-winning actress Melissa Leebaert brims with playful enthusiasm, capturing the surprise and excitement of these pond personalities as they confront life’s changes. Featuring careful pacing and lively emotion, Leebaert’s speaking style ensures that young listeners will have no trouble understanding the jitters and jubilations that accompany the processes of growth and change.

Wonderful

A feel-good favorite! The story is fun, the illustrations are great, and Melissa Leebaert does an absolutely fantastic job at narration. The background music is perfect here -- enhancing rather than distracting from the story.

fun and cute

This is a favorite of my daughters. I like this type of audio book, where the illustration pages are shown. The narrator is engaging and the plot is clever

Where are the pictures?

We've been slowly going through and buying the books in the With Synchronized Images category. This one was placed in that category but doesn't show any illustrations other than the cover image - I wish we could get the illustrated audiobook version or exchange it for one that has pictures!
