Publisher's summary

A full cast dramatisation of this classic children's book. Pauline, Petrova, and Posy Fossil are not really sisters; even their surname is invented since Great Uncle Matthew(GUM) adopted each of them on his various fossil-hunting trips. When the trio decide to "put our name in the history books because it's our very own", each Fossil uses her individual talents to achieve their joint aim in this captivating story, now a modern children's classic.

Somewhat charming but highly improbable story!

If you are a fan of this tale from childhood, I'm sure you'll enjoy this adaptation of "Ballet Shoes". That being said, the storyline is highly improbable to the point of absurdity. Coming from a professional dance background myself, I found the whole dance school set-up to be preposterous. It is definitely a dated book. The actors present the play well however I did not find the character of Posy very likeable at all. I could only recommend this book as a curiosity.

Charming!

Being a huge fan of BBC dramas and the book Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild, I couldn't help but love this dramatization of the well-loved children's classic. It sticks remarkably close to the original story and the acting is very good; my one quibble was I thought the girls were a bit too giggly at times, but that was just my personal opinion.

If you too like BBC dramas and Noel Streatfeild's Ballet Shoes do not miss this performance!

Careful when downloading

Careful, I made the mistake of downloading this title from audible.com for the kids. This is an abridged "dramatized" version.

The Unabridged version is only available through AudibleKids. However, on that site the abridged version is not available. I had thought the two sites were the same and since there is only one version on each site, I thought they were the same. So be careful, don't click to quickly. They are not the same, one is 2 hours long, the other 6 hours. For the same price of course. Makes perfect sense right?

sigh!
