Publisher's Summary

A debut novel from a teen author! Teen author J.R. King completed his debut novel at 12. He spent a year and a half rewriting and revising. Listen to the book and see for yourself why publishers all around the world are so excited about this book. J.R. King's 12-year-old antihero turned hero, Arianna Kelt, is a reformed thief and wizard seer. Now you wouldn't think being a wizard seer would be such a big deal, but it is a big deal to the Wizards of Skyhall. For you see, those particular wizards are sworn to protect the citizens of Earth from all the things they shouldn't know about, namely wizards, warlocks, and all the creatures of the magical realms that no humans should know exist.
Certainly Arianna would like to blame all her troubles on donuts, the vile, corrupting food that has caused her problems more than once, but she couldn't. Well, not quite. The truth was she got nabbed sneaking a piece of cherry cobbler, and just when she thought her luck was running out, she saw the wizard, and of course, seeing the wizard got her into a whole new barrel of problems.
Full of humor, action, and adventure, you'll be rolling on the floor with laughter, sitting on the edge of your seat, and turning pages so fast the Law Gnomes will be out to get you too. Enter Skyhall and become a wizard if you dare!

I liked Eragon which was also written by a young author so I decided to give this a try. What I found was an amazing, intelligently written book that left me mesmorized and wanting more. This book is better than Artemis Fowl, better than Eragon in my opinion, and better on some levels than Harry Potter.

JK Rowling may have created the magical wizarding school of Hogwarts, but JR King created an entire wizarding universe complete with richly envisioned worlds and creatures. Wizards of Skyhall had me laughing one minute (especially when the gnome makes an appearance) and fascinated the next. Wizards of Skyhall does have a few rough spots, but the many many magical moments more than make up for these, and as a debut novel I'd have to say it's among the best I've read. Such a rare treat to find a book that leaves you gasping for more. This young author has a very bright future ahead.

I can't wait for the next one. Very highly recommend to all ages--young and old alike--and to anyone looking for a magical read. Amazingly fun!

Absolutely Fantastic

Wizards of Skyhall is a fantastic listen for any age The narrator is wonderful and does an amazing job catching personality in the various voices. When I started this audiobook I really was just looking for something interesting to help pass the time as I puttered around the house. Well, this one is much more than I time passer. I get less done listening to it because I just don't want to miss anything! After Arianna's amazing discovery her life is not the same and after running away from the places she gets sent to she brings you on this wild adventure!

Wizards of Skyhall is written well with descriptive vocabulary. I would recommend this to middle school and older, and all fantasy/sci-fi fans. The world the author creates is richly depicted, and the characters are fully developed. It's a great story that will keep both young and old entertained.
