Listening is better than reading in this case..
The story ended up being better than I thought it was going to be. I do believe that listening to this book versus reading it helped. The narrator did an excellent job and fit the part well. There is no real plot to this story, which, I guess, is okay considering it is a girl's journal, but then when you realize that the story isn't real....well then a little more plot could have been invented.
With that said...it is a believable story of a girl who shares her ups and downs of life in the 1800's. I do believe that there are some values set forth about diligence of work and obedience.

Good but…
You’re probably wondering why I gave this book five stars if I think it’s good but… Well it wasn’t the best book ever and it should have been more realistic since it was more realistic. But it was a sweet story and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical fiction. Also I’M NOT DAN I’m Laura and I do Classical conversations challenge B in Garden City Kansas. HOME SCHOOL ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting story from a different time
My kids (ages 4, 7, 10, and 12) enjoyed listening to this one. It is fairly slow moving, but had good morals and lessons.
