Publisher's summary

Big-n-Boo Productions is pleased to invite you on a camping trip with the Hickey Family, where everything is going great until Dad catches a cold. That's when the real fun begins. The story takes place at Wages Creek, a magical place where the grasses are tall, the creek bubbles lullabies, and the local ducks are not like any ducks you've met before.

Spectacular

Would you listen to Wages Creek again? Why?

I would totally listen to it again. Just seems like a story tailor-made for a sunny summer afternoon. Jeffrey is an incredible storyteller and genuinely transports out of reality and into the middle of the story. It's a great book for people of all ages.

Have you listened to any of Jeffrey Hickey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Awhile back Jeff. did a children's series called "Bats and Bones." It was a group of spooky children's stories that my friends and I grew up on. I've grown up with Jeff's stories. The Coach's Son is still to this day one of my favorite books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Totally. It's only a little over an hour. Great book to sit and check out for an hour with.

Any additional comments?

Jeffrey is an amazing person and a very talented storyteller. Well worth your time to check out some of his other novels as well.

Great story for kids and adults

Any additional comments?

I remember listening to Jeff Hickey perform this story when I was a kid. He is an enthralling storyteller. Listening as an adult, the story holds just as much power to be goofy and fun and most of all to bring to life every child's secret dream of talking to animals.
I would recommend this recording for anyone who has kids and wants something they can listen to as well.

Any additional comments?

Love Wages Creek! The story, the characters, everything about it is just wonderful. Jeffrey Hickey is such a talented author and story teller. As a child, and now an adult, listening to this book has always brought me so much joy. To any animal/pet lover, young or old, this book is one to read!

Transcended

Would you listen to Wages Creek again? Why?

Yes. Although I listened to the story I was immersed in the background sounds and music which at times I felt like I was living a "Calgon take me away commercial". So my next listen will focus on the story and only the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Esmeralda. She is a decisive character.

What about Jeffrey Hickey’s performance did you like?

He does a good drawing you into the story. I felt like I was at the campsite.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I attempted to stop a couple of times but I became anxious to find out the outcome of the wager.
