Publisher's summary

Over one million people have read or listened to and loved Wonder. Now listeners will have a chance to hear from the one of the book's most controversial characters - Julian.

From the very first day Auggie and Julian met in the number-one New York Times best seller Wonder, it was clear they were never going to be friends, with Julian treating Auggie like he had the plague. And while Wonder told Auggie's story through six different viewpoints, Julian's perspective was never shared. Fans could only guess what he was thinking.

Until now. The Julian Chapter will finally reveal the bully's side of the story. Why is Julian so unkind to Auggie? And does he have a chance for redemption?

"... tall in the garden of the Lord."

This is a beautifully told story of redemption, forgiveness, kindness, love, and the amazing, freeing gift of remorse, the essential first part of what we who are Christians call repentance. It's not a Christian book - the quoted line is from a 70 year old grave marker - but the virtues Jesus commended are commended here, and for those of us who believe there can't be any truly happy ending without "the Lord", the grave marker line is a precious crumb: it indicates that the people whose ongoing, courageous love to Julian's grandmother, saving her life and making his possible, were not just believers, but believers indeed. This is a work of fiction, but the author poured a lot of truth into this book.

Great follow up to Wonder - Julian's perspective

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Julian Chapter?

Julian's realization of his role in the tough year in fifth grade

What about Michael Chamberlain’s performance did you like?

Sounds like the way a KidMin that age group would talk

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt good that Julian admitted his role in the bad school year and attempted to make amends with someone he hated

Any additional comments?

Great book to follow up wonder about finally accepting the differences of Augie and reaching out to him. Inspiring that he grew up and full of seeking forgiveness and forgiving others.

Loved it

My 9 year old was enthralled in the story. It got a little heavy near the end with German invasion, so i tried to pause or skip it but she wanted to listen. Luckily, I distracted her enough that she didn't ask for clarification and what they did to them. Other than that heart moving part, we both couldn't turn the book off. Such a wonderful way for a younger reader to have access to advanced reading themes. She was drawn to the character developments and the realization he comes to in the end. Such a fantastic book like Wonder abd Auggie and Me. looking forward to Shingaling.
