Publisher's summary

No matter how simple it may be, solving mathematical equations can be a challenge for quite a number of persons Through his book titled Secret of Mental Math Arithmetic: 70 Secrets to Super Speed Calculation Amazing Math Tricks, Jason Scotts seeks to provide the solution to those mathematical problems.

The main challenge has come from the fact that most persons have become used to grabbing a calculator to solve a mathematical problem. As such, the mind has become a bit lazy and it takes a bit of prodding to get it working without having to use a calculator. The text takes everything back to basics and reminds the listener of simple techniques that they were taught in school. This text is a must have in any home as it can help an individual to learn how to conquer those math equations without having the need to reach for a calculator.

Severely lacking

These breezy-short lectures are severely lacking in depth. The writer, Scotto, lacks vocabulary and does not demonstrate a knowledge-base to warrant serious consideration. Casual listeners only. The item description suggests the author is fluent in many mathematical tricks of trade. That, he is not. He is after your 1.98 to induce the buyer into purchasing three or four of 45 minute packages. He falls back on fad language, as a 5th string fad guru.

Not Useful!

Would you try another book from Jason Scotts and/or Kirk Hanley?

No

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No

Any additional comments?

Unfortunately, this audiobook is basicallly worthless. It only cost ~$2 but I want it back. 45 minutes = short. 70 tips include using rounding to truncate off decimals and 80 is very close to 79. Says that the Internet is a good resource. It sounds like this is someone's "post-college" try to make a little money writing a "booklet".
