Publisher's summary

As a SEAL sniper and combat veteran, Webb was tapped to revamp the US Naval Special Warfare (SEAL) Scout/Sniper School, incorporating the latest advances in technology and ballistics software to create an entirely new course that continues to test the skills and even the best warriors. In this revealing new audiobook, Webb takes listeners through every aspect of this training, describing how Spec Ops snipers are taught each dimension of their art. Trainees learn to utilize every edge possible to make their shot - from studying crosswinds, barometric pressure, latitude, and even the rotation of the Earth, to becoming ballistic experts. But marksmanship is only one aspect of the training. Each SEAL's endurance, stealth, and mental and physical stamina are tested and pushed to the breaking point.

Webb also shows how this training plays out in combat, using real-life exploits of the world's top snipers, including Jason Delgado, who led a Marine platoon in the Battle of Husaybah and made some of the most remarkable kill shots in the Iraq War; Nicholas Irving, the US Army Ranger credited with 33 kills in a single three-month tour in Afghanistan; and Rob Furlong, who during Operation Anaconda delivered the then-longest kill shot in history.

During Webb's sniper school tenure, the course graduated some of the deadliest and most skilled snipers of this generation, including Marcus Luttrell (Lone Survivor), Adam Brown (Fearless), and Chris Kyle (American Sniper). From recon and stalk, to complex last minute adjustments, and finally, the moment of taking the shot, The Killing School demonstrates how today's sniper is trained to function as an entire military operation rolled into a single individual - an army of one.

Brandon Webb writes Great Books

This book is great. As a Marine I have a ton of pride to my branch and love reading books about other branches. Brandon Webb writes his books where there is the upmost respect for EVERY Branch and training. The books have great back stories on these American Heros, and are all Solid info. Webb is a pillar to the modern training and I can not thank him enough for his service as well as risk and time to create these books.

Material is fantastic, guy reading it, meh...

Loved the book. The narrator was terrible. It seemed like he was trying to read through it as fast as possible. His voice is great, but the tempo at which he read and lack of phrasing was frustrating. Overall this book is incredible though, it’s still definitely worth listening to despite the narration.

awesome account of factual events in our history

it had me from helllloooooo.. didn't want the book to end. sniper books that include the process's of making a shot at great distance is intriguing to me...I wish the author and his pal's would do a mini video series on shooting/ stalking / ranging tips for the experienced shooter or those looking to obtain a better skill set in what ever faction of shooting that are in.

loved the book

The sacrifice of the 21st century warfighter

Don't let the title of The Killing School put you off. This well-crafted monument to the forces fighting against evil is a vivid recount of slices in time that form a mosaic image of the conflict the entire world was thrust in just after the turn of the century. Men & Women from civilized nations, working together to systematically put down the foundations of death & oppression in our so called modern world. Hard work is an understatement when describing these stories but, in a way, there is a necessary job being done and with extraordinary valor by these high quality human beings. I'm thankful to be introduced to a few of them through Brandon Webb's encounters as documented in The Killing School. We all should all find & embrace sources of honest information like this book, so we can achieve a clear insight into the realities of our warrior class that protect our freedoms and their comrades. Thank you, all...
