Publisher's Summary

It's a universal account of greed, ambition, and the power of the political machine that crushes anyone who gets in the way. In much the same way that Bruce Beresford's award-winning feature film Breaker Morant captured the popular imagination, Shoot Straight, You Bastards! is an explosive listen - as controversial an event today as it was 100 years ago. Too many people have tried to put a halt to the 'wheel of history' by insisting that all has now been revealed and theirs is the definitive word. But there's always more...always, as this book will reveal. This revised edition contains the essay 'The Morant Affair: Murder or Justice', read by Peter Byrne.

Good history.

What made the experience of listening to Shoot Straight, You Bastards the most enjoyable?

A great mix of fact, fiction, history, re-enactment and good old fashion story telling.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Breaker of course. I think we all have a little of the Breaking in all of us.

What three words best describe Peter Hosking and Peter Byrne ’s voice?

Passes the test.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This book takes hours to listen to. You need to stretch it over a week.

Any additional comments?

I wanted Harry Morant to be more English. Like Edward Woodward in the movie 'Breaker Morant'. He sounded like an Australian to me.
