Great collection of military stories

In these times, it was great to hear this collection of military stories about the IDF.

Inspiring

This book details the heroic deeds of small determined and highly trained units and individuals to overcome overwhelming odds to complete their mission. Truly inspirational.

Great listen. Very detailed and informative. I actually dreaded the end, as I wanted to hear more. Well done.

VERY boring

it's really hard to follow or care about. there are a few nuggets and gems. bit not enough to keep anyone s attention. Just alot of bleh...mash up of stories with no real direction.Do NOT get this book if you are used to good military books. Complete waste .

The fake Israeli accent is irritating.

The stories are all great. switching from regular Americanized English to some kind of fake Israeli accented English is very irritating and unnecessary. I couldn't finish the book.

The narrator’s fake accent is over the top

The fake accent of the narrator is unnecessary and distracting. I had to stop listening.
Completely unnecessary affectatious accent makes all the quotes sound disrespectful.

Kept me somewhat entertained. Forgettable though

It's an okay book, I found it mildly interesting. It's like that movie you watched last night, which was... okay... kept you somewhat entertained... but can't retell to your mate now, because you can't remember what the movie was about, or who starred in it.

Reasons I'm not all that excited about it, are:
– there are few tactical and strategical takeaways to be... well... taken away...
– it's a bit biased in its tone. Israel rocks – there's no doubt about that, reading this book.
– it wasn't clear which unit did what in each operation. Could've benefitted from a short explanation of the various Israeli special forces units. Which unit is equal to f.e. the US Navy SEALs, various Hunter Forces around the world, etc. It seems like Israel's special forces are grouped differently – so more info on that would've been welcome and made it more engaging.
– overall it's just not interesting in the same way that other great books on special forces are. To name a few recommendations:

The Navy SEAL Art of War by Rob Roy
Extreme Ownership (VERY engaging listen) by Babin & Willink
Unbreakable (a more personal account – with great battle descriptions) by Thom Shea
– are three that stand out for me.

Oh, another, minor detail:
Whenever an Israeli says something, the narrator speaks english like Israelis do. I know, as a Krav Maga practitioner;-) Maybe it's just me, but I find that it makes what they say seem less serious, like a parody. On the other hand, it makes it easy to distinguish whenever it's a person talking, vs the author's own voice.

The above said: this is a fairly good book, and you may like it!
