The author includes extensive notes and a good bibliography. I did not explore these carefully, but there were times I was somewhat skeptical of the detail provided; that said, the author often used phrases such as "one can imagine that he must have wondered..." This is a good popular history

This book listen like an exciting historical novel but it is all sadly too true and helps to explain how modern South America came to be what it is today. General fans of history and military history enthusiasts will find this an absorbing good
