This book represents a compelling illustration of one of the world’s oldest civilizations: the road it followed to reach the place where it is today, and the primary elements that shaped its culture. It is a narrative that takes you from the ancient beginnings of the nation to modern-day India.

Here is a brief insight into the content of the book:

  • Ancient India: its most significant empires and the coming of Islam

if free, ok. Do NOT buy.

I found it on Kindle unlimited for free and regret paying extra for the narration. the book was very sketchy. while I knew it was going to be a quick run through a very large amount of History, I didn't expect it to be so shallow and have such an obvious axe to grind. Not really impartial and poorly written as well. the narrator had a hard time pronouncing things and although did their best there was obvious stop and starts and no punctuation. now I'm going to look at the Kindle version and I hope it has a whole lot of maps and maybe photographs because that might make up for the poorly organized prose and bad narration
