Publisher's Summary

This rich culture of East Africa, known in the Bible as Abyssinia, claims descent from King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. Under a Marxist regime, however, this ancient people has suffered from famine and genocide. This presentation chronicles the heartbreak of Ethiopia, which mirrors many of the crises besieging the third-world countries of Africa. The World's Political Hot Spots series explains the basis of conflicts in some of the world's most politically sensitive areas. Many of these regions are in today's headlines, and tensions recently have become violent in virtually all of them. Each presentation covers up to 10 centuries of background, revealing how and why today's problems occur.

Attempts at accents are cheesy and racist

All quotes are read in unnessasary, cheesy and often racist caricature accents. Give it a rest.

Solid Orientalist Quack!

It is a shame that this kind of claptrap is available on Audible.

It is completely lacking in historic method. It is a bigoted, religiously biased collection of half truths about Ethiopia as viewed from a solid orientalist quack.

If the work of Wendy McElroy on the other 13 titles listed under her name is as bad as this it is an offense for Audible to be publishing them.
